Motorised Blinds, one of the UK’s go-to retailers for made-to-measure window blinds, knew it was time for change. Their PrestaShop site had done its job—but cracks were starting to show. Customization was limited. The shopping experience felt dated. Scaling? That was becoming a challenge.

Challenges

The original PrestaShop site delivered a sleek, tailored frontend with pixel-perfect alignment. Recreating that same visual flow and interactivity in WooCommerce was non-trivial, especially when adapting to a different theme structure.
The PrestaShop version had fast, intuitive filtering and live search capabilities. Recreating this in WooCommerce while maintaining speed and accuracy was a performance challenge.
The business required two separate checkout flows—one for standard orders and another for samples—something WooCommerce doesn’t support out of the box.
Customers could input measurements in various units, but pricing calculations needed to be accurate to the millimeter.
Delivery estimates dynamically needed to factor in preparation time, holidays, and weekends.
Adding real-time options like “Measure Safe” or “Screw Pack” into a side cart without slowing down the UI was a tricky balance.
Syncing product prices from Google Sheets introduced concerns around data consistency, sync timing, and permission controls.
Pricing rules included discounts, surcharges, and role-based pricing—all needing to be managed without compromising UX.

Our UX/UI experts designed a bespoke layout tailored to the client’s brand and functional goals.
Developers then built a custom WordPress theme from scratch, ensuring fast load times and a responsive user experience.
To simplify product discovery within an extensive catalog, we integrated the robust Searchnizer tool. Additionally, we implemented tailored category filters, enabling users to find what they need quickly and intuitively.
We developed a dedicated plugin, ‘ Sample Cart,’ which allows users to order product samples independently from regular orders. This includes a streamlined, checkout-free process and a dedicated backend management tool for the admin team.
A custom measurement unit plugin allowed customers to enter mm, cm, or inches sizes. The system auto-converted all values to mm, ensuring consistency and accurate pricing across regions.
We built a powerful plugin that enabled admins to:
- Input public holidays
- Configure delivery options per product (Standard, Next Day, etc.)
- Automatically skip weekends and holidays during delivery estimation
A custom side cart was implemented, allowing shoppers to add extra options like ‘Measure Safe’ and ‘Screw Pack’ after choosing a product. This improved upselling and the overall shopping experience.
Using the Sheets API and WooCommerce REST API, we connected product pricing with Google Sheets. Admins could update prices directly in the sheet, and real-time syncing was enabled through a simple checkbox, eliminating the need for backend logins.
We created flexible product-level custom fields and formulas to support dynamic pricing based on customer type (retail/wholesale), discounts, and surcharges, automatically updating totals in real time.
